DC Movies/TV Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman Opens Today!

Today is the day that we see if Wonder Woman can finally give the DC universe the jumpstart that it needs.  There was a lot of excitement for the previous DC movies, but they did not quite deliver.  While I thoroughly enjoyed Man of Steel, the follow-up entries of Batman vs. Superman and the Suicide Squad were both very disappointing attempts.  They both tried to do too much and tried to be too gritty and dark.  The tides may be turning though.  If the early reviews of Wonder Woman are any indication, it appears to be the film that will get this ship headed in the right direction.

In case you’ve been living in a cave, let’s revisit the synopses for Wonder Woman.  The movie begins with Princess Diana (Gal Gadot) as a young girl on a protected island paradise of only women.    From an early age, she is in training to become a warrior by her aunt, Antiope (Robin Wright).  Antiope trains her with a sense of urgency as she seems to have a sixth sense that a war is brewing and she wants Diana to be fully prepared.  Diana is a woman of honor having been brought up with a strong sense of values by her mother Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nelson), but those values are tested when she discovers a pilot who has crash landed on their shores.

The pilot is Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) and he is the first man that Diana has ever met.  She is fascinated to learn about the outside world he has come from.  He tells her of a massive war taking place in his world, and she cannot help but go with him to do all she can to stop the conflict.  To Steve, Diana embodies everything that is good in the world and he puts his full trust in her as they go into battle together.

The film is getting great reviews so far so get your tickets now, and if you are one of the first to see it, please let us know what you think below!
