Wolfenstein II Trailer Revealed at E3!

Do you love gratuitous violence?  Do you love fighting mechanical mechanical dogs of war?  How about taking out your pent up aggression on Nazi soldiers?  If these things excite you, then you have plenty excited for with Bethesda’s announcement of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus today at E3!

The Wolfenstein II announcement trailer begins as a campy seventies TV show where a young girl runs across a man trying to help someone trapped under a truck.  The girl sees that the man’s attempt is useless so she uses her trusty whistle to call her loyal mechanical Kampfhunde, Liesel, to save the day.  Liesel quickly removes the truck and proceeds to burn it with its fire breath.  Bad dog Liesel, bad dog!

After flipping through a few a more seventies style commercials and shows, we see that a cat is controlling the remote after which the camera pans to one BJ Blazkowicz in a gurney once again.  I assume that BJ was on another Nazi exterminating tirade and was eventually overtaken.  Apparently someone is looking out for him though, as there are dead bodies strewn all over the floor leading up to his bed.  As you can probably guess, BJ will most surely escape and begin to take his revenge on his captors.

It appears that the Nazi’s hold on the world has not weakened since our last outing in The Old Blood.  Wolfenstein II finds us in an America under the complete control of the Nazis.  Main Street in this America looks broken and depressed.  Nazi soldiers are walking freely among the streets intimidating the citizens.  We even see them escorting a couple of fully robed and hooded klansmen down the street.

BJ’s mission this time is more personal when he finds out that he is going to be a father.  He cannot stand the thought of his son growing up under the control of the Nazi scum, and he feels he must do whatever is necessary drive them out.  He navigates the streets of America to find like-minded revolutionaries to aide him in his cause.  Although, it appears that recruiting may take a little more convincing that he had hoped.

Wolfenstein II’s gameplay appears to be just what you would expect from the series.  Plenty of relentless waves of Nazi soldiers, mechanized Kampfhunde’s, flamethrowers, sadistic enemy leaders, and plenty of gore.  Guts splatter everywhere when BJ’s fury is unleashed upon the enemy soldiers… whether by hand or with duel-wielded assault rifles.  He is also complimented by a fully retractable metal helmet this around.
