During a few recent interviews with the Stranger Things cast, it was revealed that the second season will be much darker and will find the kids struggling to cope with the events of season one. Much of the new season is going to focus on diving deeper into each character individually. According to Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson, “They feel alone because their best friend is back and he’s not acting like their best friend anymore. He’s changed.” So, how exactly has he changed? It’s anyone’s guess at this point.
The article also references an interview with Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, as indicating that the new season will be much scarier and will have more of a traditional horror cinema feel.
The second season of Stranger Things will premiere on Netflix on October 31st!
