John Wick 2 Arrives on Blu-Ray June 13th!

John Wick is one of the coolest action movies to come along in quite a while.  It’s a little fantastical with all of the over-the-top action, the never ending barrage of bullets, and the hyper quick reloads, but it is also a lot of fun.  John Wick 2 is great because it did what a lot of sequels fail to do by keeping the story original and not simply rehashing the formula of the first movie.

I don’t remember where I read it last year, but someone described it as the Harry Potter of assassins.  This couldn’t be more spot on.  The secret society of assassins in John Wick have their own secret shops, their own hotel with strict rules, and their own form of currency.  They move unseen around the rest of us and never seem to suffer any consequences, unless of course they fight within the confines of one of their hotels.  They adhere to a strict code that is honored by all members… well, most of the time.

Keanu Reaves as John Wick in John Wick 2
Keanu Reeves stars as ‘John Wick’ in JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2.

John Wick 2 finds John once again forced back into the life he retired from.  An old acquaintance shows up at his door and reminds John that he owes him a blood oath, an unbreakable favor that is due from a previous favor he performed for John.  John must travel to Rome to fulfill the oath if he wants any chance of retiring in peace.

Of course, Keanu Reaves, John Leguizamo, and Ian McShane are all back for more action along with several new characters.  The upcoming Blu-Ray includes over three hours of special features including deleted scenes, several featurettes, and a short film that I can’t wait to see called Dog Wick.  The full list of features can be found below.
